A lot of September babies…

January 2, at 10.36pm. That’s the most common time of the entire year to conceive according to statistics.

September 26, is the most common birth date according to figures from the UK, which is 38 weeks away and the average length of a pregnancy.

Channel Mum looked into the data and discovered 71% of parents trying for children would be having rumpy-pumpy on this date and would explain the trend of births in the latter part of September.

In a survey of  2,139 couples, the channel found that January 2 is the day where the most couples enjoy the dance with no pants as they seek some down time after the festive season and before the return to work.

It may also be due to the fact that Septembers babies will usually be the oldest in their year in school.

Couples wishing to gave children were also willing to give plenty of unconventional lengths to try and conceive.

Siobhan Freegard, founder of Channel Mum, said: “Falling pregnant isn’t always easy so couples who have been trying a while will attempt almost anything to help.

”While there isn’t much medical science to back up these tips, our members swear they have all helped and we have hundreds of bouncing new babies to prove it.

”As long as you have fun trying, it’s always worth giving it a go.”

Some of the more bizarre things people are attempting in a bid to increase chances of conception include eating dark chocolate everyday, wearing socks during sex and for the week after sex to keep your feet warm, and wearing green and using green bedsheets (believed to be a fertile colour).
