The National Lottery has revealed that the winning ticket from Wednesday night’s draw was sold in Ballinrobe in Mayo.

The lucky winner or winners will claim a tidy €2,824,437 jackpot for themselves after matching the numbers drawn on Wednesday night: 3, 8, 21, 34, 37 and 47. The bonus number was 16.

The National Lottery is appealing to its players in Mayo, particularly in the town of Ballinrobe, to check their tickets carefully.

The latest jackpot is the 59th Lotto jackpot to be won in Mayo since the inception of the Lotto game in 1988, jackpots which, in total, amount to €106,548,931.

It is the seventh Lotto jackpot win in 2020 to date and brings the total jackpot prizes won so far this year to over €34 million. Almost €73 million has been won in prizes in the Lotto game in 2020, including 12 new millionaires created from Lotto and Lotto Plus games.

A National Lottery spokesperson said it hopes to reveal the name and the location of the winning store which sold the €2.8 million Lotto jackpot by the end of this week.

“With a jackpot win of this amount, it is important that we take some time to inform the winning retailer and of course to give the winning ticketholder the time and space they need to let this amazing win sink in so we will be announcing the winning store in the coming days,” the spokesperson said.

“Last night’s draw produced more than 70,000 winners across the country so we are encouraging everybody who bought a Lotto ticket to check them very carefully – particularly those who played in Mayo!

“If you are one of the lucky winners of any of last night’s big prizes, please sign the back of the ticket and contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email [email protected] and we will make arrangements for you to collect your prize.”
