After putting in some serious work over the last 12 weeks, Brian Maher finally had the big reveal on JOE Gets Ripped.

If there’s one man that’s been working his arse off, somewhat literally, since the start of the New Year, it’s Spin 103.8 DJ Brian Maher, who was the star of the JOE Gets Ripped series right here on JOE.

With a whole lot of discipline and some serious effort, Brian completely changed his body, and has been doing his best to not only just make a short-term change, but to make a lifestyle change for good.

All the way back at the beginning of the year, Brian wasn’t in terrible shape, and he had experience running marathons and ultramarathons, but weight training was going to be a different kettle of fish for the the DJ.

At the start, Brian posted up a picture of what he looked like when he began the challenge, and looked like a pretty average guy.

Less than two months into the challenge though, Brian could already see an incredible transformation, and he was becoming quite the inspiration for the lads in the JOE office to get ourselves down the gym too.

Finally, yesterday, Brian had the big reveal and showed exactly what twelve weeks of seriously hard work will get you, both in the gym and in the kitchen, and you’ve got to say it’s an incredible achievement.

No matter what anyone wants to say about this, in the space of twelve weeks, Brian’s transformation and dedication has been incredible.

With the help of the folks at Optimum Nutrition and guidance from personal trainer Dan Smullen, he has made a change for the better and put a whole load of keyboard warriors to shame.

Through German Volume Training, giant sets, tough diets (like eating chicken at 9am), Brian has never given in, and you can watch the video to see what it’s been like for him over the last twelve weeks.

We have to say, given all that Brian has put in over the last few weeks, we’d expect him to have had enough, but in his final blog he let us all know that he’s going to stick to the program, since his results so far have been the best inspiration he could have asked for.

It just goes to show that with the proper effort and a closer eye on your diet, it really is possible to transform your body, but sticking to it is the real challenge, which is what made Brian our Hero of the Week.

If you want to be a hero like Brian, you can apply to the Lynx Apollo Space Academy to see if you can be the first Irishman in space. Simply head over to lynxpollo.com and sign up to see if you’ve got what it takes.
