Former GQ Man of the Year Mark Ronson is enjoying an illustrious career, having earned himself a Brit award for his 2008 album Versions and a Grammy for his work with artist Amy Winehouse’s multi-award-winning Back to Black album. Not only that but he has steadily become one to watch for his ever-evolving and immaculate approach to his style and image.
It was his penchant for Blue Note Records art work that influenced his distinctive 60s-esque button-down shirts and sharp suits, which similarly to his music, are updated versions of Motown cool with a respecting nod to the Mod scene.
Ronson takes his style very seriously. He favours the drafted-from-scratch bespoke method of tailoring. Standing out from the crowd, he adds his own twist to his handmade suits by adding a daring dash of colour, be it in his choice of shirt or trainers.
Ronson leaves his London hotel in style
After meeting and bonding with Gucci’s creative director Frida Gianni over her taste in music, the pair agreed to embark on designing a range of exclusive limited edition trainers for Gucci. The coupling has proved to be extremely successful and opened the fashion house to a younger clientele. In ever-so-stylish fashion the DJ announced his new project at the collection’s launch, under the name ‘Mark Ronson and the Business Intl’, heralding a new sound and image to boot with the release of new single ‘Bang, Bang, Bang’ off the eagerly-awaited album Record Collection.
After a stream of high profile partners, including 20-year old model Daisy Lowe, it is rumoured that Ronson is to tie the knot with current squeeze, the ultra-chic Josephine de la Baume. It would appear things are just coming up for the producer.
That said, his new peroxide-doused hair is questionable to say the least – but even he manages to pull it off with minimum fuss. Claiming to take style inspiration from French greats such as actor Jean-Paul Belmondo (Breathless) there is no denying his style is cutting edge and always one step ahead of the crowd. Even a dash from the airport is a stylish affair – the guy is a pro.
