Matthew Perry says he can’t remember much from seasons 3-6 of Friends, as he was so out of it

It looks like the character of Chandler was often portrayed on autopilot.

Matthew Perry has told BBC Radio 2 that he can’t remember three years of filming Friends because of his alcohol and substance abuse.

Entertainment Weekly have reported the timeline of Perry’s nadir when it came to his addictions, which would have included legendary episodes of Friends, like; The One Without The Ski Trip, The One With Chandler in a Box and The One With Chandler’s Work Laugh.

When asked by the BBC what his least favourite episode was, Perry replied:

“I think the answer is I don’t remember three years of it. So none of those … somewhere between season 3 and 6.”

The 46-year-old continued, “a little bit of the time, I was a little out of it, yeah.”

The comic actor, who is currently preparing for the London-based play The End of Longing, which kept him away from a recent unofficial Friends reunion, told People in an interview three years ago:

“I was a hopelessly narcissistic guy, and I only thought about myself, and then that just shifted, and when that happened, I got some true happiness and comfort in my life.”

Perry has since been clean for years and is a strong advocate for helping those with addictions.
