Merlin Car Auctions are holding the latest of their themed auctions, this time entitled Gimme 5, on Thursday 14 October at their Kylemore premises in Dublin.

Gimme 5 offers bidders the chance to drive away with a fantastic car for anything between €500 and €5,000.

Merlin will showcase more than 120 cars at this auction, none of which will exceed €5,000 in price to include all fees. Cars featured include a 2001 BMW 318 Convertible, a 2001 Mercedes Benz E 320 CDI Automatic, a 2005 Suzuki Swift Automatic and a Peugeot 607 SE.

The sale will also include over 50 low mileage Japanese import cars including a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Automatic, a 2005 Mazda 5 Automatic and many more. A full catalogue is available at www.merlincarauctions.ie/gimme5.

The €5,000 cap means that a good proportion of the cars will could end up selling for 50% less than their recommended retail value.

Merlin O’Reilly, Chief Executive Officer of Merlin Car Auctions is expecting a massive crowd. “Gimme 5 is a novel idea which lets the bidder know from the start that the maximum they will spend at the end of the night will be €5,000,” he says.

“That includes all fees. We have some fantastic cars including a 2002 BMW 520 Diesel, which is creating a lot of excitement among bidders. We have had a massive amount of web and phone enquiries about the cars on offer.”

Buyers can also guarantee their newly acquired cars with a 12 month warranty which is being launched at Merlin Car Auctions this week. This includes engine, gearbox and mechanical cover and starts at €199. The new warranty is available for all cars under 10 years old with less than 200,000 km on the clock.
