Can you hear the thunder?

Met Éireann has issued a weather advisory for the entirety of Ireland, to come into effect at midday on Saturday (13 June).

According to the notice, we are to expect “prolonged thundery downpours this weekend, mainly in Munster and south Leinster on Saturday afternoon and evening.”

The showers are expected to be heavy, and will likely cover the bottom half of the country.

It gets worse from that point, as a the thundery storms are set to become widespread across the island on Sunday afternoon and evening. Met Éireann has warned that there will be a higher risk of spot flooding. Again, the showers are described as “heavy.”

The warning will remain in effect until 9pm on Sunday night.
