Met Éireann predicts that we’re in for a rather rotten, rain-filled day

Olivia Hayes

It’s not looking good, guys.

The rain has been teasing us this week and we had a rather nasty downpour last night. It seems like it’s going to get even worse today as Met Éireann is predicting cloud and rain in most areas.

It will be heavy during the afternoon, and temperatures will still be high – reaching up to 19 degrees.

The weather forecaster said: “This morning will be cloudy with rain in most areas. West Connacht and west Ulster will stay mainly dry. This afternoon, in the east, some heavy bursts of rain will occur.”

“Further west, rain will become more patchy and some bright intervals will develop. Highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees with moderate north to northwest breezes.”

As for tonight, the rain will clear in most areas, however there will still be some drizzle in areas.

“Tonight, showery rain will mostly clear eastwards, but will continue for much of the night in coastal areas of north Leinster and east Ulster. It will be mostly cloudy with some patchy mist or drizzle in places. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees.”

Definitely time to whip the brolly back out.
