A place in the Michelin guide is a pretty special string to have to their bow.
Eight restaurants in Ireland and Northern Ireland will appear in the official 2018 Michelin Guide, having been revealed as recipients of Bib Gourmand awards ahead of the official launch of the guide next week.
Though not as prestigious as a Michelin star, a Bib Gourmand is awarded to restaurants deemed to offer ‘exceptionally good food at moderate prices’, ensuring that diners will most certainly get bang for their buck.
Eight restaurants in Ireland and Northern Ireland were identified as new recipients of a Bib Gourmand on The Michelin Guide Twitter account on Friday and will merit inclusion alongside the crème de la crème of restaurants in the UK and Ireland when the guide is released on Monday.
Four restaurants in Dublin warranted a mention, as well as one apiece in Galway, Clare, Kildare and Down.
Ever eaten in any of these places? If not, with praise as high as this, they’re obviously well worth checking out.
