The Apple store has suffered it’s first major attack.

If you have an iPhone then you might want to be extra vigilant with any apps that you’ve recently downloaded after Apple reported its first case of malicious malware infiltrating their security system. At least 39 iOS apps have been infected, according to reports by Palo Alto networks.

The most prominent app that was infected is WeChat while car-hailing app Didi Kuaidi and music app NetEase are the other most popular ones.

Numerous other banking, games and stock trading apps were similarly affected.

Note, the majority of these apps are based in China and Apple have since said that they’ve removed the malicious apps from their store with clean versions set to take their place.

Prior to this hack, only 5 apps were reported to be malicious in the Apple store and Palo Alto Networks Director of Threat Intelligence Ryan Olson said the malware attack was ‘a pretty big deal’.
