National Lottery to reduce time to collect prizes

Crucial info for anyone who plays the Lotto.

As Ireland returns to something that vaguely resembles normality, the National Lottery has announced that they are shortening the time winners have to collect their prizes.

As a result of Covid-19, the time to collect prizes had been doubled from 90 days to 180 days for anyone who had won anything in the Lotto from 9 January onwards.

However, the Lotto will now return to normal, and give winners 90 days to claim their prizes starting from today (9 July).

Prizes can be collected in the usual way from National Lottery retail agents and at An Post Claim Centres.

In a statement issued today, The National Lottery asked all players to “keep tickets safe and, more importantly, to keep yourself and each other safe by heeding HSE and Government advice, as well as practicing social and physical distancing when collecting Prizes.”

Prizes up to and including €100 can be claimed at any National Lottery Agent. Agents may pay higher prizes (up to and including €2,500) at their discretion.

All prizes of €15,000 and above are payable only at the National Lottery, Abbey Street Lower, Dublin 1. Any player who has a winning ticket of €15,000 and above should take the following steps:

  1. Sign the back of the winning ticket.
  2. Put the ticket in a safe place.
  3. Contact the National Lottery as soon as possible.
