One of the most iconic jingles in Irish advertising history is being replaced

Rory Cashin

“Tasty and tempting foooooooood AT…… SUPERMACS!”

We all know the jingle, because it has been the same for as long as anyone of us can remember.

But the folks at Supermacs are looking to update their fast-food soundtrack a little, and have opened up a competition to the musically-inclined public.

From all of the entries, they’ve whittled them down to nine potential winners, and now it is left to the rest of us to choose which of these we will be hearing whenever there’s a Supermacs advertisement on the radio or TV from here on out.

The entries came from all over Ireland, including Dublin, Drumshanbo, Cork, Galway, Mayo, Dundalk, and there’s even one that arrived all the way from Pittsburgh.

You can listen to all nine of the entires for the jingle competition here, and there’s a bit of variation to them all, with one sounding a little like The Corrs to us, and another coming from an artist named G Mac, who as you can probably guess, brings a bit of a hip hop flavour to proceedings.

Remember, the jingle you vote for could potentially end up being the one you, us, and everyone we know hearing for the foreseeable future…

… so choose wisely!
