How your next morning cup of coffee could help save lives

JOE

Coffee Morning

Brought to you by Irish Cancer Society

A powerful brew.

It’s something many of us need to even be able to say hello to other people, but the simple act of buying a coffee next month could help save lives. The Irish Cancer Society is encouraging people to get involved in their Cups Against Breast Cancer campaign, with the idea being that as many people as possible across Ireland host a coffee morning in October.

Be it in your workplace or in your community, the main thing is that you get involved.

The money raised from these coffee mornings will go towards the fight against breast cancer, something 12 women in Ireland are diagnosed with every day. You might not realise it, but a small number of men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year as well.

So not only will you be helping to support thousands of families across Ireland, it’s an excuse for you to buy as much coffee as you damn well please.

How to get involved

If you register online before Thursday, 27 September, you could be in with a chance to win a hamper full of coffee, biscuits and cakes for your event. When filling in the registration form, just tell us why you are getting your cups out this October.

We all have our different reasons for supporting the fight against breast cancer, so tell us all about yours! Two entries will then be chosen to win the box of goodies.

A fundraising pack will then be sent to you, to help you with your event during the campaign. You can also ask to be sent a box of pink ribbons, which you can sell to raise extra funds. The more money you raise, the better!

The Irish Cancer Society relies on public donations to fund services such as their Daffodil Centres, Freephone Cancer Nurseline, and Night Nursing. With more research, they aim to improve how we diagnose and treat breast cancer, as well as support the 3,100 women diagnosed with it each year. Register now to host a Cups Against Breast Cancer coffee morning and show your support for women fighting breast cancer.
