Pantone reveal the “Colour of the Year” for 2019

Colour of the Year

It’s a pretty good colour, in fairness.

Colour of the year? Maybe, maybe not. Always liked purple myself. Pantone are the experts, though.

Pantone, “the global authority on colour,” have revealed the Colour of the Year for 2019 — and it’s something called “Living Coral.” It’s described as “an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energises and enlivens with a softer edge.”

Colour of the Year

“Pantone 16-1546 Living Coral emits the desired, familiar, and energising aspects of colour found in nature. In its glorious, yet unfortunately more elusive, display beneath the sea, this vivifying and effervescent colour mesmerises the eye and mind,” the organisation has said.

“Lying at the centre of our naturally vivid and chromatic ecosystem, PANTONE Living Coral is evocative of how coral reefs provide shelter to a diverse kaleidoscope of colour.”

So if you want to be popular in the coming 12 months, there’s only one thing for it. Stock up on living coral products of all kinds.
