A very good dog has been voted honorary mayor of a town in Colorado

Parker the Snow Dog has been sworn in as the honorary mayor of a town in Colorado.

The very good boy was sworn in as the Honorary Mayor of Georgetown by Clear Creek County earlier this week.

“It was a packed house Tuesday Night at the Georgetown Community Center for Parker’s Inauguration Ceremony,” Clear Creek County shared on Facebook.

“Police Judge Lynette Kelsey administered the Mayor oath to Parker the Snow Dog.”

The adorable pooch was pictured at his swearing-in ceremony wearing a tie and glasses - you've got to dress up for the occasion, after all.

According to Parker's website, he was voted the Honorary Mayor of Georgetown Colorado by the Board of Selectmen on Tuesday 11 February.

"He is committed to bringing hugs, love and cookies to the people of Georgetown," his website adds.
