If your name is Patrick, Paddy or Patricia, a free night in an Irish hotel next month could be yours

Calling all Paddys!

Given that it’s the name of our patron saint, Patrick or its many equivalents (Paddy, Padraig, Patricia etc.) is a very popular name in Ireland and those with any one of those monikers could bag themselves a free night in a hotel in Clare next month.

In a very generous gesture to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, Patrick Treacy of Treacy’s West County Hotel in Ennis in Clare is offering a free night’s accommodation on Friday, March 17 to all fellow Patricks.

He’s not being too pedantic about it though; anyone named Pat, Paddy, Padraig or Patricia will also be entitled to a free night and we’re sure if there’s any Patricios that fancy it, then they’d be eligible too.

Bookings open at 10am on Monday, February 27 and the first 500 eligible people to call will get a free stay; photo identification will be required on the day, however, so any Peters or Pauls chancing their arm over the phone are likely to meet with disappointment.

There are a few terms and conditions detailed in the Facebook post below but if you fit the bill and haven’t yet made any plans for Paddy’s Day, then it might be worth putting a note in your diary for Monday.
