Petrol head heaven… Day one of the Irish Festival of Speed comes to an end

The first day of the Irish Festival of Speed is slowly coming to an end, but there’s still time to catch some of the world’s most expensive supercars out on the streets in all their glory.

The first day of the Irish Festival of Speed is slowly coming to an end, but there’s still time to catch some of the world’s most expensive supercars out on the streets in all their glory.

We don’t get to see exotic cars rolling around the streets of Ireland very often, but if you get yourself into The Potato Market, Merchant’s Quay, Limerick City this evening you might see more supercars than you’ve ever seen in your life.

The Irish Festival of Speed has been exciting dedicated petrol heads and causal motoring fans alike with a variety of different events including: air displays by Gerry Humphreys & Eddie Goggins, a motorbike stunt display with Mattie Griffin, track demos by a variety of different cars and motorbike classes – oh, and there are also hundreds of top class cars on show for punters to gawk at…

There’s everything from vintage racing cars and vintage bikes, modern supercars, rally cars, ultra rare collectable cars and everything else in between.

If you have any interest in cars then there’s still time to check out all the action of the Irish Festival of Speed tomorrow for day two. Here’s a look at the Festival Timetable for Sunday, August 4 (click here to see full timetable):

If you’d like to follow the action for the rest of the night then make sure to check out the 1930s Grand Prix Revival, which takes place via the 1930s ‘Round the Houses’ GP Route from 6pm.

Make sure to check back over the Bank Holiday weekend, as we’ll be featuring a few galleries containing all the action from the festival. JOE’s Oisín Collins is currently down in Limerick with his camera and he has been taking plenty of pics… apparently.
