Pic: A girl in Cork exposes Tesco’s poor understanding of the Irish language

How long has it been up there?

How long has it been up there?

Eagle-eyed Aoife Walsh was doing her shopping in Tesco in Ballincollig yesterday when she spotted a sign in the store and noticed something was off.

She posted a photo and this message to their wall, “Hi, I’m an Irish teacher, just bringing this to your attention. ‘Eineoil’ is poultry and ‘Reoite’ is frozen. I am available for translations if required.”

Tesco

We spoke to the manager of the Tesco earlier and their response was, “Ni thuigim an cheist.” We didn’t, that’s just a joke for anyone who’s ever done an Irish exam in their life.

Good job Aoife, keep them honest.
