PIC: A guy in Cork was nearly charged over €14,000 for a pizza last night

Conor Heneghan

What was it made of, caviar and gold?

We often complain about the price of goods in Ireland and what could have ended up being the most expensive pizza ever made was nearly sold to a guy in Cork last night.

JOE reader Mark Hogan told us that when buying a pizza in Apache Pizza in Carrigaline, he was initially presented with the receipt below for a transaction that might have went through if he had the required amount in his current account.

According to Mark, the restaurant was swamped and it was an honest mistake from an Apache employee and in the end, nobody was hurt and Mark went home with a pizza that cost considerably less than the price of a half-decent new car.

We’d still love to know what a €14,000 pizza would taste like, mind.

Cheers to Mark Hogan for sending this our way. If you have something you would like to share with us, send it to our WhatsApp number 087-4001102, [email protected] or hit us up on Facebook or Twitter.
