Fit for the best player in the world? We think so.
It’s a travesty that it almost seems tiresome celebrating the greatness of Lionel Messi at this stage, but he gave us another reason to do just that this week as he surpassed Raul as the all-time leading scorer in the Champions League.
As an added bonus, Messi will have a pair of new adidas boots released in his honour, the mirosar10 boots, inspired by his upbringing in his hometown of Rosario, Argentina.
As always, there’s a bit of a spiel explaining every single design aspect of the boot in question and here, adidas say that the orange on the boot represents his first ever club and the green represents their fiercest rivals, who Messi scored four goals against in his first ever 11-a-side game.
The insoles, meanwhile, feature a map of Rosario, while fans will also be encouraged to create their own personalised insole with a map of their own hometown in a competition as part of a wider-ranging social campaign.
