You have to hand it to the guys at Chevy; at least they’re making the best of an awkward situation…

Earlier today, we reported on the awkward presentation given to San Francisco Giants’ pitcher & MVP Madison Bumgarner following the Giants’ victory over Kansas City Royals in Game 7 to claim the World Series.

Chevrolet just so happened to be the official vehicle sponsors of the World Series, so one of General Motors’ (parent company of Chevy) zone managers was invited up to present Bumgarner with a brand new Chevy Colorado truck.

Unfortunately for the zone manager in question, Rikk Wilde, he made an absolute b*lls of the presentation, saying the truck had,“class-winning, you know, technology and stuff” and the video has since gone viral. Check it out over here.

While some companies might see the awkward presentation as a PR nightmare, Chevy took it upon themselves to tweet out the following post a few hours after the incident in what can only be described as a moment of PR genius.

Fair play to Chevy and we hope Rikk doesn’t take any ribbing he gets to heart…
