PIC: Dublin pub gives one of its regulars wireless headphones so he can watch the football in peace

Tony Cuddihy

Now this is how you keep your punters happy.

We wish more pubs provided a service like this.

You know how it is – you don’t have Sky Sports, you can’t get a decent ‘less-than-legal’ stream at home and you don’t want to miss, well, the first leg of a League Cup semi-final between Southampton and Liverpool.

You head down to the local but you can’t hear the wise words of Alan Smith in the commentary.

What do you do? You get one of the barmen to dig you out a pair of wireless headphones is what you do.

JOE reader Brendan McGettigan spotted this gentleman in P. Mac’s on Wednesday night, happily lost in the world of English football’s third most important domestic competition while everyone else enjoys a few pints around him.

This man has the right idea, and P. Mac’s know the importance of keeping their regulars happy.
