Outrageous.
A woman in Dublin has taken to Twitter to complain after her constituency refused her permission to vote, as she did not ring ahead to organise wheelchair access.
Eimear Breathnach, a retired paralympic athlete, posted this outraged message on her Twitter account earlier.
So under the constitution all citizens are equal I am not allowed vote as I did not ring ahead to organise wheelchair access #GE16 disgusted

Her plight was met with a lot of sympathy…
. @mrseimearb that’s horrific. All polling stations should be accessible to all without having to ask #ge16

@mrseimearb My work is a polling station and they’re required to have one to remain as a polling station. That’s terrible form.

Eimear then had to get assistance from her brother in an increasingly disgraceful and humiliating situation.
Went and got my big brother to get me into inaccessible polling station via fire exit and bins #equality?? #GE16 pic.twitter.com/DtwsoixbAr

Eimear has since thanked all the well wishers for their support…
Overwhelmed by everyone's support for my voting issues. Too many tweets to reply to. Thank you all #GE16
