“Run and hide.”
Single men of Ireland, you may not be aware of the significance of today and if you’re not, thank God we caught you in time.
Today, February 29, is Leap Day, a day that falls once every four years and, as was highlighted in that godawful Leap Year movie, it is a day on which women can propose to their significant others in a tradition which exists in Ireland and Britain.
Aware that there are thousands of vulnerable men around the country who could be pounced on at any moment today, the Leinster Garda Checkpoints and Speed Van Locations Facebook page have issued a timely warning on behalf of Naas Gardai, who, we suspect, know nothing about it whatsoever.
Regardless of any official Garda involvement, however, it is a warning that should be heeded and taken very seriously by any men who could be vulnerable to the “attacks” mentioned below.
Midnight tonight can’t come quickly enough.
