PIC: Holly Willoughby features on the final cover of FHM

Paul Moore

End of an era.

You may remember the news that we brought you a few weeks ago regarding the closure of FHM magazine after 31 years of publishing.

Bauer Media have cited dwindling readership and the growing popularity of mobile and social media as the reasons for the decision. At its peak in 2000, FHM was selling 700,000 copies but managed to shift just 67,000 magazines in the first six months of 2015.

I’m certain that quite a few people will be picking up the last ever copy and the publishers have opted to have the ‘This Morning’ presenter to have the honour of gracing their last ever cover.

Speaking about the decision to have her on the cover, Willoughby said ‘It’s the end of an era and to be part of the final issue before FHM takes its place on the big shelf in the sky, has been a real honour.

‘We’ve both grown up together – I’ve had 3 children and you’ve had 314 issues but now, with a heavy heart, it’s time to bid you a fond farewell.’
