One of a kind.
I had the pleasure of meeting Johnny Lyons on more than one occasion and it's lovely to see that my own thoughts are being echoed by people all over Ireland this morning.
The broadcaster was a larger than life character whose passion for sport was second to none and it seems that Johnny's energy, humour and genuine decency has made a lasting impression on his listeners.
98FM had a magnificent broadcast this morning entitled 'Now That's What I Call Johnny Lyons' as Katie Taylor, Robbie Keane and Brian Kerr among many others paid a glowing tribute to the talented broadcaster.
Johnny Lyons was one of a kind broadcaster, an incredibly decent man and he will be sorely missed. RIP Johnny Lyons.
