Who needs Eircode?

Postal addresses have been in the news recently with the introduction of Eircode but not everyone is happy about the new system.

The new postcode system is intended to make things easier for the people delivering your mail but you don't have to spend €27m to make their lives easier.

I vividly remember being taught how to properly write letters and addresses when I was studying for my Junior Cert but maybe this wasn't the standard practice across Ireland as seen by this gas letter.

The letter was intended for Barry Henderson but was was delivered to his wife Roisin who is a journalist at the Inish Times in Buncrana. Take a look at it because it features one of the laziest efforts at writing an address that you'll ever see.

Mark Patterson, a radio presenter on BBC Foyle in Derry, tweeted this and the postman deserves a pint because he actually managed to deliver it.

Take a look.
