As good as, if not even better than the real thing.
Dublin is a big enough place with any amount of options when it comes to a night out, but despite a multitude of choices, there are some people who will always end up in Copper Face Jacks on Harcourt Street.
JOE reader Michael ‘Mick’ Kelly is one of those people, although he’ll soon have to find a similar alternative in Australia soon because he’s headed Down Under for an extended spell next week.
Mick tells us that as long as he was living at home he spent about 20 per cent of his income in the famous nightspot and that he’s always wanted the equivalent of the Holy Grail for all Coppers regulars, a Coppers gold card.
Knowing this, a group of his friends decided to present him with a home-made one at a going away party last Friday night, complete with a unique set of terms and conditions that Mick will have to abide by when he does return.
If he can complete number 5 he’ll be a very happy man indeed.
