Pic: Man does 4,210 pull-ups in 12 hours to claim world record in emphatic fashion

"It's such a deep burn!"

“It’s such a deep burn!”

If you, like us, have the upper body strength of a particularly weak toddler, then you will probably want to look away in shame right now…

Australian Ironman Cain Eckstein broke the pull-ups world record for 12 and 24 hours on Monday when he completed an astounding 4,210 chin-ups in just 12 hours. How the hell did he do that? Well, just by looking at the picture below you can see he obviously has the perfect physique for such a challenge, i.e. he’s a beast…

From personal experience, a deep burn starts in your arms and chest around two pull-ups in and by the time you get to six, you’re near delirious with pain and exhaustion. Now while some might suggest that it is a “sweet sweet burn”, we would have to disagree strongly and ignore suggestions that the correct way to treat a burn is to “pour sweet cream on it”.*

Eckstein broke the previous 24 hour record of 4138 pull-ups with over 12 hours to spare and showed the toll that such an effort took on his hands with this picture…

*This advice may in fact have been taken from the film Blades of Glory and may not actually be a method of treating burns…
