PIC: Mayo girl’s emotional Instagram tribute to Coppers as she goes home for Christmas

Joe Harrington

We’ve all had good nights there, but this is something different.

If you’ve been out in Dublin this year there’s a good chance you ended up in Copper Face Jacks on Harcourt Street for a night or ten.

“Will we just go to Coppers?” is usually uttered when you are your friends can’t decide on a club or late bar to finish the night. You usually roll out at 5am wondering what just happened.

If you have been in Coppers this year, you probably saw Mayo woman Deirdre Barry. She adores the place.

The second year St. Pats student went home on Sunday and being away from the famous nightclub for a few weeks prompted this emotional Instagram post.

I sit here languishing in sorrow, a mere shell of my former self, absolutely refusing to give credence to the idea that I am 'home'. For they say that home is where the heart is, and never have I been so acutely aware as to where mine resides; deep within the walls of 29-30 Harcourt Street. Memories, all happy ones, surround me, overwhelm me, like a warm blanket on a bitterly cold night, reminding me of times in my life when I have been very content indeed. At this moment in time, I'd go as far as to say that I would actually consider putting two bullets in a family member, if it meant that I could have another classic Chooseday night in paradise before 2015 signs off. Our reunion in January 2016 will be sensational, of that I'm sure. #TeamCoppers #ThePromisedLand #homeiswheretheheartis #coppers #love

We’ve found Coppers number one fan, get that woman a Gold Card.
