On the rare occasions that the sun does grace Ireland with its presence, you can expect the seaside to be thronged with people.
The second we’ve even got a hint of those sweet UV rays, people start behaving as though they’ve never been warm before — shirts come off, factor 50 goes on and everybody has a 99 in their hand.
Nowhere was this culture more evident today than outside ice cream shop Scrumdiddly’s in Dun Laoghaire, where the queue for ice cream was around the corner.
