Faith in humanity restored.

If we’re being honest, all of us have woken up after a night out with one or two regrets; we’re only human after all.

One customer visiting Rearden’s Bar in Cork city felt so badly about a fairly minor indiscretion on Monday night, however, that they felt they had to do something about it.

The bar posted a picture on their Facebook page on Wednesday of a letter from a customer who neglected to pay for “1 and ½ pints of Heineken” on Monday night and as well as apologising for being a “badass,” the customer enclosed a €10 note to make up the damage.

The bar used the €10 to buy two lottery tickets with a promise to donate the money to the Simon Community if they ended up winning, which, unfortunately, they didn’t.

That said, it’s nice to see the generosity of the gesture from the bar and in the original letter from the customer; ’tis the season of goodwill after all.
