PIC: Students in Galway couldn’t afford a Christmas tree so they created this monstrosity

Joe Harrington

Top marks for improvisation.

Pretty much everyone’s Christmas tree should be up at this stage so that lovely fresh smell should wafting through the air and those damn pine needles are probably all over the floor.

There are a few college students in Galway who needed an alternative to buying a tree so they made one with stuff that was lying around their house.

Aisling Bonner and her housemates channeled their inner McGyver and created a “tree” using an ironing board, Halloween cobwebs, tinsel, coloured bulbs and tinfoil.

Here it is in all its glory.

We love the way it’s just thrown against the corner of the worktop.

Look, it’s certainly inventive, but Aisling and the gang shouldn’t expect a call from Dragon’s Den anytime soon. Their patent is safe.

Top marks for getting into the Christmas spirit though.

Cheers to Aisling Bonner or sending this our way. If you have something you would like to share with us, send it to [email protected] or find us on Facebook or Twitter.
