Pic: Surely this isn’t the new Guinness pint glass, is it?

The black stuff is looking suspiciously continental here

There are a few things that JOE is very particular about.

For example, no one is allowed to contact us when a match is on and any decent cup of tea contains only the barest suggestion of milk.

At the risk of sounding like grumpy old codgers, the Guinness pint glass is also a touchy subject because we think that it should always be, ahem, girthy at the base.

It definitely should NOT be narrow at the bottom, like an Erdinger pint glass, as shown by this post from Reddit user Keith 11. He claimed that a publican informed him recently that this is the new design that’s being implemented very soon.

Bar chat or is there some truth to this image?

We’re still waiting on any official word from Diageo but we definitely prefer the current version. We’re old fashioned like that.

Pint Glass

Note: The powers that be have since been in touch with JOE and informed us that this design is called ‘The Harp glass’ and is only available in selected pubs and restaurants in the UK so far. Will this glass make its way over to Ireland? We hope not.
