Well played Tesco.
You might remember a piece on the site earlier this week, where we gave some exposure to an Irish teacher in Cork, Aoife Walsh, who had taken Tesco to task over their poor use of our native language.
We’re not sure how many people would have noticed the fact that Éineoil Reoite translates as ‘frozen poultry’ and not, as the Tesco in Ballincollig would have had you believe, ‘family multipacks’.
Aoife did, however and when the people in Tesco got wind of the story on these pages, they were glad to admit their mistake.
To make up for it, not only did they put up a new sign in store, they invited Aoife to perform the unveiling.
Our new sign has been unveiled and everything is now "Hunky Dory" again in aisle 20. Thanks to Aoife Walsh for joining…
