Pic: The Honda Twitter account has been taken over by Skeletor and it’s absolutely hilarious
The people responsible for this publicity stunt truly are Masters of the Universe.
The importance of social media to major worldwide brands these days is hard to underestimate but even though Twitter has been around for ages at this stage, you can still tell that some companies get it and some don’t.
This afternoon, Honda came up with arguably the best use of Twitter by a brand we’ve seen yet by placing control of their Twitter account in the hands of Skeletor, who many of you will remember from your childhood as He-Man’s arch nemesis.
At first, we suspected that it might be an ingenious prank by hackers, but it turns out that Skeletor is one of a number of characters that feature in Honda’s Happy Honda Days ad campaign for Christmas.
While the fact that it was part of a plan all along spoils it just a little bit, the quality of some of the tweets still deserve to be appreciated.
