Someone in Galway County Council might want to get the measuring stick out (again)…
An eagle-eyed JOE reader by the name of Cormac O’Conaire recently spotted this doubled-up sign on the N59 out in Galway, and if the two signs are to be believed then there’s a non-existent 4km stretch of road somewhere in between them…

We can take a fairly safe guess that the lads in Galway County Council are currently in between putting the new sign up and taking down the old one, but it doesn’t change the fact that motorists have been somewhat misled by the actual distance between the sign(s) and Clifden for all these years.
Hat tip to Cormac O’Conaire for sending the pic our way via Twitter
