Remember this Dublin pub’s drastic move to keep people sober on Good Friday?

Let us take you back to a golden time.

April 2015 was a simpler time. The idea of Leicester City winning the Premier League would’ve been met by a curt, “would ya FUCK off?”, Jon Snow was weeks away from a grisly death (and subsequent spoiler alerts) and Donald Trump was just a haircut in a lot of debt.

Cut to Good Friday, and we were expecting scenes like these outside bars in Temple Bar, Washington Street in Cork, Shop Street in Galway, and O’Connell Street in Limerick when night fell.

The Ha’penny Bridge Inn in Dublin had made provisions for that eventuality, however, by securing the front of their premises with something very few people can get through.

Brilliant.

We fully expect Liam Shovlin and Anthony Cooper, who sent these pictures our way, to be on the prowl on Friday to see if the Ha’penny Bridge Inn repeat the trick.
