PIC: There was a uniquely Irish sign at the New York Women’s March on Saturday

Carl Kinsella

And no, it wasn’t “Down with this sort of thing” or “Careful now”…

Though we’d be shocked if there weren’t some of them floating around as well.

No, as tens of thousands of women and allies took to the streets of Donald Trump’s home state New York to protest against the behaviour of the newly-inaugurated President, one placard stood out as unmistakably Irish.

Irish NYC stumbled across Aoife from Leitrim who was out adding her voice to the millions worldwide dissatisfied with the presidency of Donald Trump, brandishing a sign that read “Ah sure he was always an auld bollicks”.

Aoife is photographed here with her sign, in amongst several other slogans against Trump, and we think it’s fair to say that hers is uniquely Irish.

Writing to JOE.ie, Irish NYC said “I’m not sure if the thousands of Yanks understood it but I thought it was the best sign of the whole march. Has a Craggy Island feel to it.”
