PIC: We’ve a new contender for Ireland’s most gargantuan 99 ice-cream cone

Paul Moore

Gardai kerry ice cream

If you dropped this, it might kill someone.

There’s no need for great weather to enjoy a 99 ice-cream cone but it does help! We hope that you all enjoyed the recent bout of good weather but there are always a few things that you’re guaranteed to see whenever the sun comes out.

Water fights, wedged beer gardens and lots of people walking around with farmers tans are just some of them, but there’s one activity that reigns supreme because it will definitely leave you with a smile on your face.

The national treasure that is a 99 ice-cream is essential whenever there’s decent weather, preferably with strawberry syrup and a chocolate flake, but when it comes to size, we’re firm believers in the idea that the bigger the better.

This one in Meath was monstrous but JOE reader Dylan Reilly and his friend Stephen Connaghan may have found an even bigger one. This beast was found in the Cope shopping centre in Dungloe, Donega and we really fancy getting to grips with this.

Here’s what we would look like after wrestling with that monster.
