Scottish people might like to tell you that they’re the experts when it comes to deep frying bars of chocolate, but there’s an upstart from America who’s about to give them a run for their money with a sandwich that won’t be making an appearance in any healthy diet plan anytime soon.
Why anyone would think to make a sandwich with a Kit Kat as the central filling is beyond us but a man known as Nick Chipman (no wonder he likes to deep fry), who writes
a blog called Dude Foods, has done just that and added in some grilled cheese just in case the calorie count wasn’t high enough as it is.
According to Nick’s blog, the formula was fairly simple as he simply coated two Kit Kat bars in flour, egg and panko bread crumbs, dropped them into his deep fryer for less than a minute, then put a couple of slices of cheese between them and fried them in a pan.
Nick admits that he fully expected the sandwich to fall apart in his hand but it remained intact and much to the surprise of Nick and, we imagine, anyone with taste buds, it turned out to be pretty tasty. In Nick’s opinion. It certainly doesn’t look too tasty to us.
