PICS: A lot of people are being caught out by this bogus Facebook competition

No, they’re not giving away a stack of iPhones…

Facebook is the wild west of bogus competitions with many promising extraordinary prizes for a simple like and share of their post.

This is all well and good because there’s a lot of legitimate competitions out there from established pages that are 100% genuine. But there’s countless other pages offering you tickets to concerts, new iPhones etc with absolutely no intention of handing over the prize.

We came across another one today, this time a fake Harvey Norman page offering Facebookers the chance to win one of 17 iPhones in return for liking and sharing a Facebook post.

At the time of writing, the post currently has over 6,000 likes and 7,000 shares.

The page claims to be Harvey Norman’s official Irish page but this is false, as the the Harvey Norman Ireland page below, and has the verified blue tick alongside it.

Don’t fall for it folks, make sure it’s a legitimate page, and has a blue tick whenever possible.
