What a journey.

What a journey.

August 23, 2011 was the day Wexford man Sean Dillon left Ireland with the intention of riding his Honda 90 motorcycle from Alaska to Argentina.

That’s a dream journey for thousands of people and it’s a once in a lifetime trip that we’d love to go on.

Sean’s adventure involved five continents, countless miles, lots of laughs, an endless amount of stories and so much more but after over three years, he’s almost home.

Sean drove from the Arctic Circle down through the Americas to Antartica then over to Africa, up through Europe and into the UK.

He’s expected back in Wexford in the next few days.

Sean’s brother Aidan got in touch with us and gave us a bit of insight into the trip, including some fantastic stories like Fox News and GoPro chasing him down, to hanging out with Ernest Hemmingway’s grandson.

He also managed to take his Honda 90 to the top of a volcano in Chile and he jumped the border over a bridge in Ecuador under the noses of armed guards.

The story is amazing and he’s documented the whole thing with pictures on his Facebook page.

Sean plans on auctioning off the bike when he gets home and the money raised will go to a charity that’s yet to be chosen.

You can follow the whole thing on Sean’s Facebook page. What a man.
