Wow, just wow…
Tuesday night and Wednesday morning were not suitable times to be out and about after Met Éireann issued a weather warning for basically all of Ireland.
Two separate warnings were issued for thunder around Ireland with a lot of heavy rain also promised in many areas as well.
We were treated to a soggy night with rumblings and flashes that awoke many a heavy sleeper from their restful slumbers.
From the photos we’ve received, Galway received a particularly bad dose of lightning and many stunning images were captured of the scenes.
The first one was captured by photographer John Walsh, who spotted some lightning hitting the ground near Ballybane on the outskirts of Galway city.
The next snap is from Paul Wilson, who captured this image above Galway city.
