Despite the weather, over 150 supercars of all different eras lined up to start the 1,500km three-day road trip around Ireland, all of which raises money for the Laura Lynn House charity, the only dedicated children’s hospice in Ireland.

The variety of cars on the trip range from a Back To The Future DeLorean, an A-Team van, the Ferrari F40 – a car that adorned many a bedroom wall over the years – right up to the very latest supercars such as the McLaren MP4-12, Lamborghini Gallardo and a monstrous 740hp Ferrari F12. The event has attracted several rare cars from the UK and even further afield.

Not only are some of the cars ridiculous, the drivers are just as mad – many of which are spending the weekend ‘in character’, though we never realised what a strong Tuam accent B.A. Baracus had…

Day one sees the multi-million euro cavalcade head south, through Abbeyleix before heading on to Cork for the evening. Following what is expected to be a late night, the group will head to Limerick via Kenmare before then travelling through Killaloe and Cashel on day three. All the cars will cross the finish line in Tullamore on Sunday evening, which is likely to be followed by an early night…
