The folks in Templemore need to get a few of these babies.
We thought the Italians had the market cornered in really cool police cars but we were wrong. Over in the UK, a specially-designed Atom Ariel police car has been created for a safety campaign and it looks amazing.
Weighing just 600kg and with a 0-60 of only 2.5 seconds, the Atom Ariel is a road legal sports car that might be the ultimate boy toy. Only 100 are made every year and they cost about €40,000 second hand if anyone wants to buy JOE a present.
Anyway, to promote motorcycle safety the Avon and Somerset constabulary have had one of the cars modified to look like a police car, with special livery and flashing lights. Sadly this beast will never be chasing down criminals but it certainly has brought a lot of media attention to a very worthy campaign.
