2016 has, so far, been pretty grim on the weather front throughout Ireland, but these pictures have reminded us that every cloud really does have a silver lining.
JOE reader Jonathan Scales took these amazing snaps this morning in Dundalk, Co. Louth, of Nacreous clouds.

Jonathan told us that he took about 60 pictures in total, saying that he reckons he hasn’t seen a sight as beautiful in the Irish skies in over 20 years.
We’re not going to argue with that.
