An American teen caused a three-car crash in a tunnel outside of Manning, Oregon, recently and it was all thanks to a silly superstition…
Some people believe that it’s good luck to hold your breath while driving through a tunnel or on a brand-new stretch of road. Unfortunately for 19-year-old Daniel J. Calhon, of Snohomish, Washington, the only luck that was heading his way when he held his breath while driving through a tunnel in Oregon was bad luck.
Calhon passed out behind the wheel of his car due to a lack of oxygen. His 1990 Toyota Camry then drifted across the centreline of the two-lane tunnel and crashed head on with a Ford Explorer 4x4.

Thankfully, none of the four people involved in the crash were seriously injured, but Calhon is now being cited for reckless driving, three counts of reckless endangerment and fourth-degree assault.
Safe to say that this will probably be the last time Calhon will try holding his breath in a tunnel all in the name of superstition...
