PICS: The most unconvincing UFO sighting ever reportedly spotted in Leitrim

We’re no experts but we’re not convinced…

You may or not be aware, but the west of Ireland is something of a hotspot when it comes to sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs).

Several sightings, for example, have been reported in the town of Boyle in Roscommon, including an alleged UFO crash in 1996 that was even dubbed as ‘Ireland’s Roswell’.

Boyle, of course, is only a few miles from the border with Leitrim, where another sighting is believed to have taken place last Friday, a sighting that surely ranks as one of the most unconvincing of all time.

Pictures of the sighting appeared on the UFO Sightings Daily website showing a series of small, bright circular lights located above a brighter flash of light that is hidden slightly from view.

Although it says on the website that the location of the sighting was ‘Leitim, England,’ it was corrected to Leitrim, Ireland in the comments.

An ‘eyewitness’ said: “Walking my dogs up a county (sic) road and suddenly witnessed bright lights in a local farmer’s field… it seemed odd as I’ve walked that path many times and never seen anything like this! I took a picture and as I captured it, the lights disappeared and my phone crashed.”

An expert opinion on the website, meanwhile, reads as follows: “Here is an interesting sighting where a person was near a farmer’s field and witnessed UFO lights.

“UFOs often land in farmers’ fields because they can test the food we eat, and how it’s been genetically changed by humans. This genetic change can determine statistically how many more or less people on this planet will eat in the future.

“Also the fact his phone died, drained of energy from the UFO is a typical phenomenon caused by actual alien craft.”

Interesting theory, although another interesting theory, that it’s actually just floodlights located above a sporting venue of some description, is probably a little more accurate.

That said, who are we to know what goes on in the wilds of Leitrim after dark? The truth is out there…
