Derek Zoolander once said that there’s more to life than being ridiculously, ridiculously good looking and in the case of Irish man Darren King, that statement is definitely true.
Darren is from a small village outside of Athlone called Brideswell, Co. Roscommon, but he might be about to make some big headlines all around the world because he’s competing for the title of Mr Universe AKA the most desirable man alive.
If Jamie Dornan and Rob Kearney ever fell in love and managed to have a baby, it would look like Darren.
A friend of Darren’s tells us that he was spotted five years ago in Athlone Town while he was out walking with his girlfriend of 12 years , Ann Marie. Aside from winning numerous competitions and doing some modelling work, the 27 year old also works at Penny’s in the Golden Island Shopping Centre.
After winning the title of Mr Ireland, Darren was automatically entered into Mr World competition. The finals are being held tomorrow in Portsmouth as 47 contestants all vie for the prestigious title.
Aside from his work on the catwalk, Darren is a Forestry Management & Environmental Studies graduate and has a keen interest in fitness, cycling and nutrition.
